Transport security

Does your company transport hazardous materials by road, rail, water or air? Or are you responsible for shipping, loading, unloading, filling or packaging hazardous materials in connection with such transport, including transfer from one transport mode to another?

Appointment of a safety adviser

You are required by law to appoint a safety adviser whose duties include the following:

  • advising management on regulations and procedures required to comply with applicable national and international legislation.

  • verifying that regulations governing the transport of hazardous materials are known and followed by company personnel.

  • proposing preventive measures to protect persons, property and the environment during the transport of dangerous goods.

  • analysing any accidents or incidents and formulating proposals to prevent their recurrence.

  • drawing up an annual report.

Internal safety adviser

If you choose to appoint an internal safety adviser, you can call on BIG to assist your own adviser.

Our transport specialists can answer one-off questions, provide tailor-made advice, determine correct labelling, screen/correct the transport section of a SDS or draft a new SDS.

Besides, we also carry out audits (including workplace inspections), spot-checks (vehicle departure checks) and so on.

External safety adviser

Do you prefer an external, independent safety adviser?

Count on BIG! Our certified experts take care of all your formalities for road transport (ADR), rail transport (RID), inland navigation (ADN), maritime transport (IMO/IMDG, etc.) and air transport (ICAO-IATA).
